World Peace & Sport Awards & Forum 2010

It seems only like yesterday that I returned from one of the most positive and inspiring events of the year for me. What an absolutely amazing time I had at the 4th annual World Peace & Sport Awards & Forum held in Monaco under the Patronage of HSH Prince Albert. Among the 500 international attendees were Ministers of Sport and Foreign Affairs, representatives of the United Nations and UNESCO, just to name a few. I had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people and making so many new friends! In my role as member of the jury we were tasked with selecting the winners in the various award categories. The process of electing winners among so many incredibly motivating and highly inspiring initiatives taking place around the world in the name of World Peace by using Sport as a delivery mechanism was very difficult. The greatest honor bestowed upon me was the privilege of personally awarding the sporting event of the year, organized in the name of promoting peace and repatriation of marginalized populations. The winner in this category was Rumble in Cartagena organized by Arcangeles lead by my dear friend Juan Pablo Salazar of Bogotá, Colombia.
